我對Las vegas的印象就是那個金碧輝煌的Bellagio和有吃角子老虎又粉乾淨的機場了. 加上那次是為了幫爸爸當翻譯而請假+連吃飯都要分心到生意的應酬, 心情非常不好, 所以賭城簡直是討厭的代名詞了. 唉, 只能說我和Las vegas沒緣吧~~~以下是九月的筆記:

在Las Vegas三天兩夜裡都窩在Bellagio裡忙開會事宜, 到底Las Vegas全貌如何是一概不知. 只好說說Bellagio了.

來之前只知道這間粉有名, 來了才知果是賭城經典啊: 金碧輝煌的裝飾給它 "美國ㄙㄨㄥˊ"到極點, 壯觀的噴泉柱群據說每半小時波瀾水舞一次, 光從Lobby走到客房電梯間都要花個五分鐘

---除非你跟我一樣是被Lobby隔壁的天井花園給迷昏以致多花了另一個五分鐘.

標準客房頗大間, 浴室尤其寬敞, 淋浴間和沐浴的澡缸之間的空位足以擺另一套咖啡桌沙發椅而綽綽有餘

, 大大小小毛巾算算有12條, 整個房間也是黃金路線, 連面紙盒都是金光閃閃, 不愧是賭城後起之秀. 幸好寢具是簡單大方的格子圖案, 不然連睡覺都會被金色給嚇到.

雖然硬體不錯, 可是餐飲水準普普, 重點是"貴", 跟它的金色格調果然相襯: 牛肉麵一碗$12~~>___< 妖獸貴!!!! Omaha Berger一份$8~~@__@ 有夠貴!!! 所以吃Buffet划算多了, 只是吃慣台北Buffet水準的老爸吃過兩次就嫌口味了, 才會去吃了兩次金價牛肉麵..........

到這邊總算是開了眼界: 原來賭的花樣這麼多, 虧得我對賭向來興趣缺缺, 加上這兒天氣太乾了, 不時被機器或金屬電到, 連開門我都心驚肉跳, 所以玩吃角子老虎簡直是不可能的任務~~~倒是老爸玩吃角子老虎到三更半夜才盡興, 讓我為荷包捏了一把冷汗

....

回來後經妹妹告知, 原來這間還曾在Ocean Eleven內亮過相呢.... <o:p></o:p>

在抵達的第一天我買了一份報紙

裡頭剛好有一份調查Vegas 70家賭場的吃角子老虎賠率

的文章,列出一些較常聽過的, 如果有人剛好要去試試運氣可以參考一下﹕

賭場賠率

1. Palms 93.42

4. Gold Coast 92.84--我在此待了兩晚, 輸了3元,

但多喝些免費啤酒 Margaretta , 再順手將房內香皂面紙帶回家

就扳回了.

許多網站票選Gold Coast 的buffet是Vegas最超值的buffet, 是當地人

的最愛, 6元可以吃到Prime Rib 美中墨料理及50種甜點. 站在

點心櫃前, 我陷入天人交加的情境, 想每種都嚐又吃不下,

又怕選到不好吃的, 最後選了德國巧克力及bread pudding.

感想﹕美國點心太甜 ,我只喜歡它的 bread pudding

太吵雜 .它有一臺賠率97%的slot machine 贏了5元

比別家多了印度中東及地中海料理, 還不錯, 但我吃到

值得一去, 樓上 Coyote Pub 很狂野

但朋友沒興趣

I have stayed in bellagio, mandaley bay, venetian, mirage, las vegas hilton, excaliber, alladin, treasure island, mgm.... hmm... come to think of it.... almost all... hahahaa, anyway, they are all nice, don't really like alladin though... the fake golden decor..... mandaley bay and venetian is really nice... you can try Las Vegas Hilton, it's not on the strip, so it's probably cheaper, but it's still a nice hotel!

as Tina suggested, try to go on weekdays, or even arrive on sunday, the rates should be lower, try expedia.com, they have online booking for the hotels, and usually pretty good deals too.

as for the meal change thing.... I'm not sure on that.... maybe some other ppl here can answer that question......

oh, btw, if you like clubbing, I recommend Rum Jungle in mandalay bay, it's really cool! kind of pricy, but it's worth it I think..... the service is really top notch! Ever since I moved back to Taiwan last year, I only got a chance to go there once last thanks giving.... I miss that city... ahhahahaa...

Thank you all for the information. Hotel rates are not as low as I expected.

Five star's would cost me 300 - 500 for two nights. I probably would stay close to the south strip, and pick one buffet from Mandaley Bay, Paris, Bellagio, or Aladin.

What else would you recommend for me to try? I heard that if I go shortly before a meal change (breakfast to lunch), I can get the next meal period foods for the earlier meal prices.

Dear Keylime,

Usually I prefer to choose a nice hotel (I don't like the game, either.) and enjoy the facilities for the whole day (swimming, go to the gym or arrange a massage).

In this case, Bellagio, Venitian or Cesar Palace would be the first choice.(not sure about the spelling). And Bellagio's buffet is best one

(with fresh shrimp and king crab legs, tons of dessert...), however, you'd better go there before 5 so that you don't have to line up for a long long time.

I've never stayed at the hotels you mentioned, however, they are not good as before now.

If budget would be your first concern, then you can choose Paris. This hotel is much smaller, however, the location is pretty good for you to go shopping and walking around. Also it's a new one, the buffet is nice, too.

Just for your information, maybe you can share your experience after you come back.

My to-do list in Vegas,

1.Paris Hotel" LeNotre" crossiant & eclair.

2.Canyon Ranch Spa at Venetian Hotel

3.Most of the restuarants in Bellagio but a little pricy.
4.Shopping at Caesar's Palace or Bellagio.

For Hotel,

In addition to the hotels Ted suggested, I also recommend Venetian and Mirage. Mirage is the old-time favorite yet still has her charm. The bed is firm and nice. The lighting is comfortable and not too dark.

It's easier to get good rates if you go there during weekdays. Even 5 star hotels offer affordable rates.

I will let you know if I recall more. Have a nice trip.

Thank you for the information. Those hotels look so gorgeous from

pictures.Where did you stay in Las Vegas? Five star hotels are

about 130 to 200 USD now. I probably would just go for 3 or 4 star.

Have you ever been to Grand Canyon? Any suggestion for dinning & lodging

around that area? Thank you very much.

if you are not into gambling, there's always lots of shopping, sightseeing, and shows to watch! I love Las Vegas, there's so much to do, I recommend shopping at Ceasar's Palace, as for hotel to stay... well, depending on when you are going, it should be pretty cheap right now.... even 5 star hotels like Paris and others should be around 80 dollars per night.....

as for buffet, I recommend Mandaley Bay's buffet, they have really juicy prim ribs, king crab, and huge cocktail shirmps! and their dessert is really good also! The price is about 20 dollar per person for dinner... it's well worth the price.... otherwise, Bellagio's seafood buffet is good, that's the two I would recommend....

as for shows, I strongly recommand the "O" show at Bellagio, and ofcourse, if you like magic and illusions, Mirage's Sigfried and Roy, Lance Burton is at Treasure Island?? that I'm not sure.... and if you're lucky, David Copperfield preforms at Ceasar's..... but sometimes the tickets are hard to get a hold of.....

If I am not too into gambling, what else can I do there?

I checked the information on some travel.coms. Imperial Palace, Circus Circus seem to be good places to stay in.

If any of you have been to Las Vegas, and know where I can get cheap and good buffet, steak, or seafood, please give me a recommendation list. Thank you very much.
